Nonprofit Audit | Review | Compilation
The Audit Process May Seem Like an Endless Forest, but It Definitely Doesn't Have to Be
Why I Started
My Own Firm
For as long as I can remember, I have found tremendous fulfillment and motivation in helping others. During every step of my 12 year career in public accounting, I felt a connection to my colleagues and clients in helping them be as successful as they could be, but in recent years, I had felt something was missing.
As multiple industries, including accounting, faced a talent shortage, many nonprofits have not received the top-notch client service that they deserve. I felt there had to be a better way...
My Story
I have always had a knack for numbers and solving puzzles. A teacher at my high school recommended accounting and while I wasn't sold at the time, the first class I took in college was an Intro to Accounting class and it didn't take much time at all for me to feel like I made the right decision listening to my teacher. It wasn't until September 2013, nine months after graduating from college, that I felt with certainty that accounting was going to be my career. Passing two of the four sections of the CPA exam and being able to work on my first audit after several months of tax preparation and bookkeeping, I was convinced this was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Working for a small, boutique firm for several years, I was fortunate enough to work with so many wonderful people. While it takes hard work to progress quickly in any career, I did have fantastic mentors that pushed me to be the best version of myself and I caught a few breaks to be able to become a partner at the age of 29. A few years have passed since becoming a partner and while I would not trade that experience for anything in the world, it was time for me to start a new chapter in my career and start my own firm. Doing whatever it takes to assist my nonprofit clients in being the best versions of themselves and giving them the utmost confidence in their financials and internal controls and processes is what keeps me going day in and day out.
Nonprofit Assurance
While I started my career working on a mixture of various niches and industries, I found quickly that my passion was with the nonprofit sector. Seeing the selflessness of each organizations' leaders made me strive for trying to make as much of a difference in this world. While I've found my calling in providing assurance services, I'm so grateful to have worked with so many fantastic people in the nonprofit industry that has made this such a fulfilling career. Below are the services I'm looking to assist and support nonprofits with:

Audits, Reviews, Compilations
Many nonprofits dread having to go through their annual audit. I strive to find the perfect blend and balance between a thorough audit but in as painless a way as possible. Utilizing technology, streamlining procedures, and constant communication throughout the audit are just a few of the methods I use to help ease nonprofits through the audit process.
990 Preparation
Form 990, 199, RRF-1
Filing compliance forms, such as Form 990, Form 199, and RRF-1 are not high on the bucket list when leaders start their nonprofit organizations or join the Board of Directors. However, my goal is not only to prepare and file these informational returns for your Organization, but to also inform and teach your Board the most important areas of your 990, so they feel comfortable knowing the financial side of their board responsibilities.
